The author has analyzed the problems of development of professional education in historical perspective and concluded that in the country

KW  there is no developed system of professional education on palliative care to the patients of the senior age group. This in itself is a contradiction-on the background of demographic ageing
KW  when there is a great need for this kind of assistance to persons of elderly and senile age with severe pathologies with severe functional deficits and total dependency on outsiders
KW  combined with the aging of organs and systems. Today there is a need to talk about some kind of specialized palliative care – palliative geriatrics.
