At present the process of friction and wear with reciprocating motion of interacting parts is not stu-died well. For this purpose the scope of the laboratory equipment to determine the metrological characte-ristics of friction and wear of heavy-duty hinge joints was defined. The requirements for test mode on plain bearings friction and wear are designated. The design of the laboratory stand is presented.
