The working conditions of single-band and double-band radiation barrier discharge excilamps on molecules XeCl* and XeBr* has been analyzed. It has been concluded that the time dependence of pressure value in excilamp after burning-up allows to find the conditions of maximum radiation efficiency in case of double-band radiation. In particular, it has been shown that in optimal conditions during the transition from single-band emission to double-band ones the radiant power and efficiency values reduced by several percent, and radiation efficiency of XeBr-excilamp is about 10% lower than that in case of XeCl-excilamp.
