The author analyzes the specifics of management by integration institution of the holding type and proposes a methodological substantiation of economic-mathematical modeling of mechanisms to improve the sustainability and competitiveness of integration structures. The article explains the modeling of processes happening in the holding, aimed at search of such system state management of holding a company, which ensures the dynamic balance of internal processes and external influences. The main purpose of this system is to ensure competitiveness through the development of the institutional arrangements of the control object, project, process and environmental systems, revealing the essence of the holding as an economic system.
