The article discusses the problem of development of independent behavior of younger schoolchild as the condition and result of learning activity and the factor of improvement of the effectiveness of math knowledge deepening, increasing of the interest to the intellectual work. The possibilities and features of the use of content and means of school subject “Math” in the process of formation of independent behavior of pupil of primary school.

Основное назначение курса математики начальной школы – математическое развитие ученика. В результате обучения у него формируются следующие новообразования: • способность обнаруживать и понимать математическую сущность объектов (количество, измерение, расположение), отношений, закономерностей; • компетенции в использовании знаково- символических средств и логических конструкций (алгоритм действия, работа с таблицами, схемами, моделирование способов решения учебной задачи); • интерес к интеллектуальному труду, стремление к более полному и глубокому освоению математических знаний.
