Parazitologiya yavlyaetsya obshirnoy biologicheskoy naukoy, vsestoronne izuchayuschey yavlenie parazitizma, pro- ishozhdenie i razvitie kotorogo prohodilo v dlitel'nom processe evolyucii. Odnoy iz otnositel'no novyh ee napravleniy stala paleoparazitologiya, kotoraya zanimaetsya obnaruzheniem gel'mintov i prosteyshih v razlichnom iskopaemom materiale. V sovremennoy paleoparazitologii ispol'zuyutsya mnogochislennye metody: mikroskopiche- skiy, molekulyarno-biologicheskiy (polimeraznaya cepnaya reakciya), immunologicheskie testy i elektronnaya mikro- skopiya. S pomosch'yu poslednih metodov stali vozmozhnymi issledovaniya, kasayuschiesya migracii hozyaev, a takzhe otslezhivanie izmeneniya ih parazitofauny v svyazi s izmeneniyami klimaticheskih ili inyh usloviy. Poluchennye rezul'taty sravneniya sovremennyh i drevnih parazitov sposobny dat' novye znaniya ob evolyucionnom i genetiche- skom aspektah formirovaniya yavleniya parazitizma. Tak kak na territorii Permskogo kraya provodyatsya mnogochislen- nye paleontologicheskie issledovaniya, ih mozhno s primeneniem dostupnyh mikroskopicheskih metodov rasshirit' i v parazitologicheskom aspekte.
