The paper analyzes various jet-forming nozzles of hydraulic cutters at pressures up to 28 MPa. Based on the analysis, a modernized design of the jet-forming nozzle is presented, which is currently implemented in modern hydraulic cutters. The material of hydraulic torches cuffs, which ensures tight fit of the spool to the body walls, is considered. Based on the analysis, it is proposed to use polyurethane cuffs instead of rubber ones
