Design features of lithotripters built on the basis of solid-state holmium and fiber thulium lasers have been compared. It is shown that due to the use of optical fiber as a working medium in thulium lithotripters, doped with thulium ions, radiation of optical oscillations with a wavelength of 1940 nm, optical probes with a core with a diameter of 50-100 μm, as well as a decrease in the energy of optical pulses while increasing their frequency, reduced operation time for removal of laser urinary stones and, as a result, reduced probability of complications and probability of damage to surrounding tissues.
