In this article we presented a new way to control a vessel using the example of its mooring operation to the side of the mooring facility. As an example of mooring to a vessel at anchor, we considered a method of monitoring the position by deviations of two points from a given line and formulas for analytical calculation of the model. The necessary ship technical means for monitoring the vessel by said method are presented in this article. The scope of this work is related to the developing of software-hardware decision-making systems in order to improve the safety of movement control along a given trajectory.
