The manuscript describes the prospects for the development of civil science in veterinary medicine in Russia and operational experience with volunteers and organizing research. The importance of the unique knowledge and practical skills accumulated by the staff of the rehabilitation centers was noted. It is necessary for their close cooperation with research organizations. This may become one of the vectors of the development of Russian veterinary and biological science. Also, many employees of rehabilitation centers have a biological education and actively conduct educational work: they conduct lectures, webinars, master classes, publish methodological recommendations.
