The paper considers a scientifically based approach to the formation of requirements for the accuracy of determining the location of unmanned vessels in order to prevent their collision with sudden obstacles. On the basis of probability theory, a criterion of navigational hazard of navigation is proposed, and quantitative estimates of the requirements for the accuracy of positioning of on-board satellite navigation equipment are obtained. The results of the work can be used in the organization of safe navigation and substantiation of requirements for navigation support of unmanned vessels.
