Tourism in Russia is one of the promising areas of economic activity, giving a 2-3% increase in GDP. This sector provides jobs for the population, an opportunity to earn money for resorts and travel agencies, and the population provides itself with rest and recuperation. Currently, the national project "Tourism and Hospitality Industry" is being implemented, which will help to open new natural areas for recreation and develop domestic tourism. In the context of geopolitical exports, Russia is faced with the fact that some holiday destinations have become inaccessible to Russians, which has turned the view on the development of tourism in Russia. The presented article discusses the features of Russian tourism at present, its trends, regulatory framework, an analysis of tourists' preferences in terms of both holiday destinations and price demand and supply formed in the tourism market. The author suggests criteria for choosing tourist packages by Russian tourists in modern conditions. The article allows you to form an idea of the state of internal and external tourist flows, the prospects for the development of tourism in Russia.
