This article is devoted to matters of professional training optimization by the way of the application information systems while educating. As the highly skilled specialist under present-day conditions cannot work without PCs, telecommunication means and appropriate software the application of information systems for industrial processes modelling considers being priority direction in the education at a high school. The information system is defined in the article as an integration of three components: data, programs and hard ware system. Authors consider the education of specialist at a high school to be a successive passing four stages: maladaptive, adaptive, searching and creative. Each of them is evaluated by students’ capability development to the conscious self-dependent search, decision strategy selection and its validity, evaluation of the quality of results obtained with reference to the future professional activities. Within the frame of the suggested students’ education model the authors of this research article have marked four main types of information systems: information-decisive, controlling, information systems of automated designing, advising. The main qualitative features of the said information systems are under review, some advises are supposed to be used in education processes.
