Abstract. The article is devoted to the study of problems associated with crimes committed by organized ethnic criminal groups formed from among migrants. The authors came to the conclusion that the problem of organized ethnic crime in the Russian Federation is one of the most urgent and pressing. This problem has been repeatedly discussed at the highest state level. The search and development of new effective forms and methods of countering this type of crime is in the field of view of scientists in the field of theory of operational investigative activities and criminology, as well as the practice of the activities of employees of operational units of internal affairs bodies. In this case, we have to state that these conditions determine the penetration into the territory of the Russian state not only of labor migrants, but also of persons leading a criminal lifestyle. In addition, the authors attempted to classify organized ethnic criminal groups formed from among migrants according to various criteria.
