ABSTRACT

The article considers the importance of forensic characteristics in the investigation of illegal firearms trafficking using information and telecommunications networks, including the Internet. The main elements of the forensic characteristics of the type of crime in question are considered. One of the important aspects of the investigator's work is the ability, based on available data, to make logical conclusions about the mechanisms of the crime, which allows directing the investigation in the right direction. In addition, in the field of forensic science, there is no consensus on the structure of the system of interconnected elements. This emphasizes the urgency of the need to revise existing scientific concepts related to the forensic characteristics of crimes related to illegal firearms trafficking on the Internet.
