The purpose of the study is to conduct a comparative analysis of the sports results of leading female weightlifters on the world stage at the 2024 Olympic Games in France and the Russian Championship in Novosibirsk. Research methods and organization. The study employed methods of analysis and generalization of scientific and methodological literature, examination of competition protocols, and methods of mathematical statistics. Based on the sports results of elite weightlifters at the world and Russian levels, the authors conducted a comparative analysis of the winning kilograms they achieved at the Olympic tournament in Paris and at the national championship in Novosibirsk. Research results and conclusions. The identified lag of domestic female athletes during the research provides grounds for an objective assessment of the situation in which they find themselves at this specific moment in time. The current situation in elite sports within the national teams of Russia across all sports has had a most negative impact on the training system for the strongest athletes in preparation for the main event of the four-year cycle – the Olympic Games.
