The purpose of the study is to identify the priorities of the strategic direction of the university in the field of organization of recreational physical culture. Research methods and organization: literature review, survey, expert analysis, monitoring, testing, methods of mathematical statistics. Respondents include faculty members of physical education departments and university students. Research results and conclusions. It has been shown that students' attitudes towards health-related activities and leading a healthy lifestyle require pedagogical support. An analysis of students' health indicates a decline in its characteristics. The study identifies the priorities of the health strategy, psychological and pedagogical conditions, and directions of the educational process that contribute to the formation of value orientations, the creation of conditions for students' self-realization, and their personal growth.
