This paper examines the translation errors in Korean literary works, including culturally native words, in Russian translations. As a result, the content of the original text is limiting its communicative role for readers in the target language. Therefore, in order to achieve more equivalence in future translations, we examine the translation errors based on the results of the translation and publication of Hwang Sun-won’s novel “The Descendants of Cain” in Russian. The contents of the study are as follows: First, as a preliminary research study, we investigate the errors in literary works translated into Russian in each language (Korean, Chinese, Japanese, English, and American). Second, we find and analyze translation errors in culturally native words in “The Descendants of Cain” translated and published in Russian. The results of the study revealed unnatural translations, inaccurate expressions, omissions of words in Korean sentences corresponding to the subject, Russian grammar errors, and culturally native word translation errors.
