The article presents the current condition of the near-shore waters pollution, according to the monitoring investigation results. The monitoring investigations were held by the departments of the regional Hydro Meteorological Service and expeditionary groups of South Federal University. Within the investigations the main trends of the near-shore waters pollution were defined. The increasing tendency of water pollution became distinct. As the industrial growth tempo increases, the possibility of surpassing rates of the 80-s is rather high. Constant man-induced impact that has been taking place for over 50 years cannot disappear unnoticed. Thanks to the self-purifying features the sea can alleviate the after-effects of pollution, but it cannot eliminate them.
