UDK 656.27 Эксплуатация магистральных линий с малоинтенсивным движением и местных железных дорог
To solve the problem of increasing throughput and carrying capacity, a number of countries use railway lines specialised for freight, including heavy-haul traffic. Often they directly connect ore and coal mining sites with seaports. This is also an urgent task in Russia, especially in connection with the development of major fields in Eastern Siberia and the ports of the Far East. To solve the issue of conditions for the construction of such lines and their design and technological parameters, it is interesting to study the experience of other countries. One of them, which has achieved success in this direction, is Brazil. The article analyzes the experience of Brazil in the construction of track development and organization of train traffic on specialized lines designed for heavy traffic. The most heavily trafficked specialised lines for exporting iron ore from mining sites to ports are considered: the Carajas and Victoria railways. A technical and technological comparison of the roads with each other and with similar specialised railways in Australia is made. Conclusions have been made on the possibilities of using foreign experience in the design of specialised lines in Russia for the transportation of bulk cargoes
