Современные биомедицинские технологии ставят перед человечеством биоэтические дилеммы, с одной стороны, медицинские достижения могут значительно облегчить жизнь людям, но, с другой, проблема вмешательства в природу человека актуализирует наиболее фундаментальные вопросы, касающиеся его онтологии, границы допустимых преобразований, ответственности ученого и специалиста, применяющего новейшие технологии, за отдаленные и непредсказуемые последствия, в силу целостности и взаимосвязанности различных аспектов человеческой природы. В научной литературе появляется много информации об отношении различных конфессий к генетическим манипуляциям. В данной статье представлен опыт обобщения и систематизации отношения основных христианских конфессий к проблеме редактирования генома эмбриона человека.
