The article discusses the issues of assistance in professional self-determination of upper-form pupils. The problems existing in education and society are described. A positive world experience of promoting the professional choice of students is indicated. The importance of systemic organization of this with the involvement of all subjects work is emphasized: the state, state educational organizations and social protection organizations, as well as non-governmental organizations, the family and the student himself. There is an inadequate participation of the state in the process. The importance of strengthening its role is explained. The author offers solutions to the existing problems of professional self-determination of upper-form pupils.
