Objective: the analysis of benefits and shortcomings of Russia’s accession to the World Trade Organization from line items of the Russian regions. Methods: in work general scientific methods of knowledge were applied: generalization, logical method, analysis, method of the economic analysis, method of expert evaluations. Results: long-term effects and failures in connection with change of reservoir of the regional market are determined; need of reforming of public administration is proved. Scientific novelty: recommendations about a process optimization of providing competitiveness of regional producers are offered. Practical importance: industries in which it is necessary to carry out large-scale work on upgrade, reconstruction and creation of production capacities for ensuring release of competitive products are provided before Russia becomes a part of the World Trade Organization.
