Abstract (English):
Purpose: the article is devoted to the study of the regional component in literature on the example of the Orenburg provincial author - S. N. Sevastyanov. Attention is paid to the features of the poetics of his biographical essay «Padurov». Methods: the study of the biographical sketch «Padurov» is based on historical-genetic and comparative-typological methods. Outcome: the review of biographical essay poetics features, the motive of "prisoner of the steppe" in Russian literature and in the work «Padurov», methods of creating images of the Russian Cossacks and Cossack community. Scientific novelty: new material in the form of essays by S.N. Sevastyanov is introduced into scientific circulation, in particular, his biographical essay «Padurov». Practical significance: this work contributes to the popularization and further study of the work of forgotten writers of provincial periodicals, enriching the image of the Cossack in Russian literature.
