Abstract (English):
This research featured the concept of evidence-based policy in the public administration of Russia in terms of its potential application to the industrial policy analysis. The methods included the content analysis of scientific publications, the institutional analysis, and various econometric techniques. The academic discourse was analyzed in relation to the content of industrial policy in Russian economic science and its affinity to foreign approaches. The author studied the Federal Law No. 488-FZ On Industrial Policy for the prospects of evidence-based policy tools. The article introduces a case of sustainable development in socio-economic policy and an analysis of possible alternatives for industrial modernization. The study of industrial policy can predict the consequences of applying the industrial policy toolkit at the stage of its formulation, development, and evaluation ex ante.
