В статье приводятся данные зарубежных исследований терроризма. Рассматриваются последствия террористических актов 2001 года для сферы научного обеспечения. Отмечается значительная интенсификация научных исследований, выразившаяся в увеличении количества научных публикаций, тематических журналов, профильных институтов. Акцентируется внимание на основных направлениях научного поиска и научных работах, которые в наибольшей степени отражают характер современных зарубежных исследований террористической деятельности. Приводятся распространенные замечания критического характера, предъявляемые к работам в сфере противодействия терроризму, в том числе ограниченное использование первичного материала.
