Objective: to study the unique features of social entrepreneurship at the present stage of country’s development. Methods: theoretical cognition, data grouping, comparison, generalization. Results: the analysis of scientific economic literature, classical works and periodicals on the topic of research revealed the features of corporate social responsibility formation in Russia. The results of the research allowed to determine the stakeholders expectations from the business in the region, as well as an entrepreneurial role in shaping the business environment. Scientific novelty: The article examines the entrepreneur’s social responsibility as a source of company’s income growth, long-term investments. Entrepreneur creates value through implementation of social projects. As a result they create positive influence on the basic business environment and form the basis for capital appreciation. Practical value: main provisions and conclusions of the article can be used in scientific and teaching activities in consideration with business issues, regional development issues, as well as in the study of social changes in the society.
