This article discusses the problems of standardization and certification of products as a component of product competitiveness. To keep up with global economic processes and to compete with leading foreign exporters and importers of agricultural raw materials and food the agro-industrial complex will allow innovation development and the development of recognized methods and means of competition. The competitiveness of the agro-industrial complex depends on the degree of food independence; internal food market balance in supply and demand, rapid technological, investment and reproduction; improve the quality of agricultural products; social stability and rising living standards.
