Abstract (English):
The article raises questions about the effectiveness of reforms in the school system of the Republic of Kazakhstan, identifies problem areas and investigates the causes of mistrust of learning programs, school textbooks, forms of checking the quality of students’ knowledge. The enlightenment ideas take particular place in the article, which have not lost their relevance and practical importance.
