The article presents a brief analysis of the main conceptual ideas of the developmental approach in teaching. Examples of the implementation of these ideas in teaching mathematics in elementary school are considered. It is noted that such forms of work are embedded in developmental learning that maximize the individual inclinations and abilities of each student, and a variety of pedagogical tools allows you to build individual trajectories of learning and development of each child.
